Not much to some I know, but for me thats a lot. this week dA seems to be going well for me
And also, today I visited the Art Basel, the larges modern art exibition in the world. I went with a friend of my moms, who gave me a ticket. that friend is so unlike my mom its really strange they aget along so well.
She was a Chilenan asylant in Switzerland, becasue her family had to flee fro, Pinochett. They first lived in France, then in East Germany, then in Bulgaria, and then finally in Basel, in Switzerland. She hated Basel though, so she ran away to Zurich and became a Punk in the 80's.She was also addiced to heroin. So basicly she and my mom have completely different life experiances, but maybe thats why the yget along. She is also an artist and commercial designer , so she's really interesting to me.
I saw great things, bad things and almost everything in between and the show. Some pieces were just like :"I could've done that"-"Well you didn't"-"Why would I? This is so ugly, unimaginitive and has no meaning whatsoever!!"
The pofessional art scene is weird....
I did see alot of brilliant peices though, among them are:
-a picture made out of 70'000 cartoon stickers
-a model of Nazis getting tortured and eaten by their zombie comarades and mutants
- a vespa other with vespa kid (Imagine Bambi and his mom as vespas and lying on the floor)
from the fotography it sucked though. None of the pictures I saw had any artistic value (I think). They were all boring, meaningless and neither beautiful nore ugly.
All in all it was a fantastic experiance though and next year I'm going again if I can come up with the money
